Born and raised in the Bronx, New York: the home of Hip hop I have always had a passion for music. To those who know me they know that I am a very competitive and energetic person. I am a DJ for MirrorView Entertainment and on my spare time I also Break dance. I became familiar with different types of beats and music while learning the art of break dancing. Break dancing has familiarized me with beats form the past and being young I am already familiar with the beats from now, using them together allows me to create and innovate on the turntables. The artists who have been the most influential to me have been, the late and great Tupac Shakur, Biggie Smalls, Jam Master Jay. Some of the artist that currently impress me are the Neptunes, Dr. Dre and Jadakiss. My favorite song of all time would be Hit Em Up by Tupac Shakur. I am a huge fan of Tupac's work because he wasn't talking about cars and money in all his music, He spoke of his hardships and how it was living in the hood with no one to turn to but drug dealers. He gave everyone a visual of his life, growing up in the hood you were either hustling, in jail, or dead. Hearing him made me want to work hard and not end up the way he did. I also admire groups such as the Rock Steady Crew who took something, thought as violent and created and art. A forum where one could battle and not get hurt while at the same time get noticed. Their moves interpret their emotions, creativeness through the music. I would say that as a DJ one of the most satisfying things is how one person can put others in a certain moods with the type of music you play. Sometimes I feel like I'm caught in the middle wanting to play hot blends and cutting up records, while wanting to up rock or do some floor work. I hope to continue rocking crowds and grow as an entertainer.
